“As someone who struggles with anxiety and racing thoughts, Tai Chi helps me slow down. It’s like a moving meditation. I didn’t expect to enjoy it so much — now it’s something I look forward to every week.” – Archie G.
“I absolutely loved the health and wellness program I took with Choe’s Hap Ki Do—it was one of the most peaceful and transformative experiences I’ve had. The combination of Tai Chi, Qigong, yoga, reflexology pressure points, stretching, and meditation created a deeply grounding and harmonious routine that supported my mind, body, and soul. What stood out to me the most was how the program helped me stay consistent in my self-care and spiritual practices; each session left me feeling more centered, balanced, and connected. It truly cultivated a lifestyle of inner peace and well-being that I continue to carry with me.” – Courtney B.
“I am a month shy of 61 years old. I am no athlete, but I have always been relatively strong and healthy. I enjoy being outside hiking and doing strenuous yardwork / gardening. From the summer of 2015 until the fall of 2021, I ran a 35-40 minute hilly 5k with my small dog 2 – 3 times per week, and we ran 5k races together whenever there was one in town. Gradually, osteoarthritis and work led me to fall out of my running routine. I have struggled to find a balance between exercising enough to keep strong without bringing strain and pain to my joints. I am only in my second week of the Health & Wellness / Tai Chi program. So far, I like how it uses gentle movement to improve balance and increase strength. While other forms of meditation ask us to imagine a specific place or phrase, the meditation here brings my attention inward, and with kindness, to my body and myself. What I’ve learned so far embraces and builds on what I already know, and I look forward to becoming stronger and more aware of what my body needs to be healthy.” – Cheryl K
“I’ve been taking the health & wellness program at Choe’s HapKiDo in Forsyth for about 10 years now. I love how I get a small workout while learning how to breathe better, stretch and be mindful. The community is awesome and I always feel good at the end of class.” – Zach V.
“I love taking TaiChi class. It helps me with focus, balance, and stamina. Since I have been taking class I have also increased my flexibility. Besides the physical changes the instructors are friendly and helpful. I recommend this class to all ages.” – PattiAnn R
“Tai Chi has become a really important part of my life. It has really helped me with my balance, not just with through my body, but also with my mind. I’ve met some really amazing people while being here, and it’s just really helped well round me into a well-rounded person.” -Ashely
