Throughout history, HapKiDo was taught only to a select few decided upon by the royal court of Korea. The Choe family, being one of the few selected, has handed down this ancient and traditional style of martial art, along with additional special family techniques, from first son to first son, since its inception.
Grandmaster’s vision was to share HapKiDo and Korean culture with America. In 1978, he came to the US and started teaching HapKiDo. Since the start of his journey, he has had several HapKiDo martial arts schools opened throughout our country. Grandmaster Choe has been changing lives ever since, and through his leadership, we are honored to have helped guide over 2000 Blacks Belts.
He is originally from Seoul, Korea. Along with mastering both HapKiDo and Tae Kwon Do, Grandmaster Choe’s expertise in weaponry extends to over 20 different weapons.
Our Grandmaster has over 50 years of martial arts experience, and he is highly respected in the healing and martial arts world. His accomplishments and community service have earned him the appreciation and respect of leaders on a local and international level.
